Rolf H. Weber, Professor of Private, Economic and European Law

Rolf H. Weber holds a chair for Private, Economic and European Law at the University of Zurich since 1995 and has been a practising attorney admitted to the bar in Zurich and Switzerland since 1978. He earned his MA and PhD at the University of Zurich in 1975 and 1979, was a visiting scholar at Harvard Law School in 1980/81, a practising attorney in Zurich from 1982 and a lecturer at the Universities of St. Gallen and Berne between 1985 and 1986, before receiving his venia legendi from the University of Zurich in 1986. Rolf H. Weber has been the appointed delegate for international relations of the Faculty of Law of the University of Zurich since 2005. He has been a member of the Steering Committee of the Master Course in International Economic Law at the University of Zurich since 1996 and has co-initiated the new Master of Advanced Studies in International Organisations starting in 2008. Rolf H. Weber was visiting professor for financial market, WTO-, IT- and E-Commerce law at the University of Hong Kong in 2000, 2004 and 2006/07. He is the founder and director of European Law Institute and the Center for Information and Communication Law at the University of Zurich (ZIK) and the publisher of the ZIK-book series since 1998, as well as honorary director of the European Institute in Zurich and publisher of the EIZ-book series since 1992. Furthermore, Rolf H. Weber is a member of the editorial board of several Swiss and international legal periodicals.
