Reinhard Klarmann, Ph.D. in Islamic Finance and UAE Law, LL.M. in International Business Law

Reinhard Klarmann is a Swiss lawyer admitted to the Zurich and Swiss bar. He holds a Ph.D. in Islamic Finance and UAE Law, and an LL.M. in International Business Law from the London School of Economics with a particular focus on Arab Commercial Laws, and has studied Arabic at the American University in Cairo. Dr. Klarmann is based in Cairo, Egypt, with Sarwat A. Shahid Law Firm and acts as Of-Counsel to the law firm gaggini anwälte in Zurich. Dr. Klarmann has advised banks and corporations on the structuring of Islamic financial transactions as well as on regulatory aspects of Islamic finance. He also advises foreign entities and governments on matters of foreign investment and commercial law in the Arab Middle East, with a particular focus on Egypt, the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia. He has extensive experience in project finance, real estate transactions, joint venture and share purchase agreements, commercial agency and distribution and legal sector reform.
